Maria Palacios

Maria Palacios is Senior Vice President & Chief Human Resources Officer for the American Council of Life Insurers. Maria has been leading the Human Resources department for ACLI since 2007 and plays an integral role in building culture and sustaining organizational development initiatives. She oversees performance management, employee relations, policies and procedures, and professional training, and administers employee welfare and pension plans.

Prior to ACLI, Maria worked at the American Beverage Association. She attended the University of Maryland where she earned her bachelor’s degree in Sociology and her master’s in Human Resources. She is an active member of the Society for Human Resources Management.

Maria was born in Manila, Philippines and immigrated to the United States with her parents at the age of four. They settled in Maryland where she still currently lives with her husband and two children.
